Matt Fagg Physio Newcastle

Matt Fagg

Principal Physiotherapist

Matt grew up in Newcastle and trained at the University of Newcastle, graduating in 2007. After graduating, he worked in Newcastle for several years at Kotara, Broadmeadow and Jesmond before spending 5 years working, travelling and playing basketball around various parts of Australia and the world.

Matt has extensive experience as a Physiotherapist, having been a physio for the Newcastle Knights, National Basketball League, National Touch League, NEAFL and various amateur teams for Netball, AFL, Rugby League and Basketball.

Since graduating, Matt has continued his education in Physiotherapy through various courses, inservices and practical experience with some of Australia’s leading specialists. Matt is also trained in dry needling and cupping which can complement traditional physiotherapy techniques, especially in relieving muscle spasms and pain.

Matt has a special interest in hip, knee and shoulder conditions, including arthritis and overuse conditions as well as sports injuries. Matt has also been getting great results in relieving neck and back pains and headaches.

Matt is keen and ready to help you, and always puts his best effort into each session. He is interested in a range of topics from sport to travel and world issues and still plays basketball socially. Matt currently has closed books to new patients. He is mentoring the younger physios and helping with tricky cases.

Keith Chapman Physio Newcastle

Keith Chapman

Senior Physiotherapist

Keith graduated from the University of Brighton with Honours in 1995 and worked in the National Health Service in the UK for six years, as well as being the club physiotherapist for Royston Rugby Union Club.

In 2001 Keith moved to Australia and Newcastle, doing hospital work for a year before merging into private practice. Keith has worked in several physio clinics in the Newcastle area and has vast experience in assessing and treating musculoskeletal conditions. He has worked with Olympic Swimmers, Professional Basketball Players, Champion Runners and countless Local Star Athletes/Sportspeople.

Keith is still a keen learner and regularly attends physio courses to keep updated on the latest developments in the physiotherapy profession. He is trained in Dry Needling and Acupuncture and is a Certified Level 1 Sports Physiotherapist. Keith loves treating Swimming Injuries, Sports Injuries and any conditions in the Knee, Ankle and Foot.

Outside of work, Keith enjoys time with his children and keeping fit with regular gym sessions, swimming and martial arts. He follows EPL soccer and international rugby keenly, and enjoys watching most other sports when he has the time.

Ben Jones Physio Wallsend

Kory Pringle

Physiotherapist

Kory grew up in Lithgow playing a wide range of sports including soccer, rugby league, basketball, swimming and cricket. He finished high school with the top marks in his year and pursued a career in Physiotherapy, studying at Charles Sturt University in Port Macquarie. During his studies, he worked as a Physio Assistant at the Mayo Private Hospital in Taree and in hospitality, learning valuable communication skills.

Kory is a sports fan and loves treating sports injuries and keeping people on the field. He is also skilled at treating all musculoskeletal issues including neck, back and shoulder issues.

Tara Salem

Physiotherapist

 

Tara grew up in Newcastle and graduated with a Class 1 Honours from the University of Newcastle. Her honours research involved exploring the relation between neck pain and posture, which has broadened her skills and knowledge in neck and back injury prevention and treatment.

Tara enjoys working with patients of all ages to help them regain movement and function, and has particular interests in age-related conditions, managing chronic pain and post-operative rehabilitation eg. ACL injuries, rotator cuff tears, joint replacements. Tara also enjoys incorporating elements of pilates to help people get strong in key muscles to manage and prevent injuries.

Outside of work, Tara enjoys walks along the beach, cooking, spending time with friends and family, hiking and mat pilates.

Ben Jones Physio Wallsend

Lachlan Jackson

Physiotherapist

Lachlan grew up in Newcastle and graduated in 2024 from the University of Newcastle with a bachelor of Physiotherapy.

Having played various sports throughout his youth, including hockey at a national level, Lachlan developed a deep appreciation for movement and physical health. Lachlan is passionate about helping patients of all ages regain their pre-injury level of function and ability. He is good with his hands-on skills and loves a good chat.

Outside of work, Lachlan plays in a band, loves surfing and keeps active whenever he can.
